How did I spend my Saturday? At an all-day conference at my graduate school, The College of Saint Rose, exploring different labs with other science teachers!
I heard about STANYS’ 15th Annual Lab Day via email listserve a few weeks ago. I just finished my first NSTA exploration on analysis of student work, and was doing research for my second on inquiry. It was the perfect opportunity to network with others in the area, and grab ideas on how to design my labs to be more inquiry-based.
The first session was an 80-min lab on the senses. Unfortunately I was so into what I was doing that I forgot to take photos of the lab. Fear not though…
Here are some snapshots of labs I ended up exploring today during my second session. Many thanks to Joan Wagner for a wonderful session on life science labs, and for sharing her expertise and work.
